Hi Everyone,
I own a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 98% of the factory Infinity sound system "amp and speakers".
I have installed a Jensen flip out dvd playing HU with i pod connection and the unit came with a AV connection pod that is hidden inside my center console that also hides the i pod connection.
My question is I would like to install a small 10-12" sub in a sealed box to add a little more low end but not blast out the windows. I listen to club, techno, rock, pop, country, well just about everything but rap and r&b.
My batt. gauge currently runs just a little bit below the dead center 14 volt mark so I am trying to figure out if I could add a small mono block amp for the small sub looking for probably no more than 300 watts MAX for the sub. I am trying to figure out if keeping the stock amp and adding a mono block would work or would I be better off taking out the factory amp and speakers and going with either q 5 or 6 channel amp and replacing all the factory speakers and if using a 6 channel amp bridging the last 2 channels to power the sub or what?
I know alot about pro audio systems but not so much when it comes to car audio.
I am picky about my sound quality and like warm full sound and occasionally when listening to techno or club having a little thump but not enough to rattle any windows or anything.
HELP lol
Any advice or insight would be great thanks,
Joe
