Im installing a deck for a friend and I have all the stuff i need but when i got all the wires sorted out theres plugs for the heat and other stuff that dont match up.

the harness makes no sense to me because from the car none of the wires are labeled and there is nothing i can find that does label them, and from the harness it brings the left rear + and - to the heat controls??

if anyone has a wiring diagram for the car i really need it because as it looks now im gunna be splicing almost all of the wires.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

if you bought the correct kit, it should have come with a super long harness. You need to run this harness from the amplifier in the trunk all the way up to the deck. You also need to wire up the heater controls yourself. This only works if you have the manual heating controls, tho. If you have a digital dash with controls, you're sol.

he isnt using an amp. he is using deck power.

do you know anywhere that would explain the wires? i have no idea what all of them are for coming from the car and there is no way to plug any of it in to the new dash kit.

yes, the manual that came with the kit.

the car has a factory amp. you are not going to be able to install a new hu without running the wires from the amp (located in the trunk) to the deck. taurus' are a little more involved than your standard ford radio install.

there was no manual with the kit which i thought was weird because it was scosche..

yeah ive heard that you need ot run wires to the back for the speakers and the ant. how big is it do you know?

I have a harness, if you have the Amp in the trunk, you need to kit, it plugs in the back and runs to the front for the speaker outputs, but all your power and evrything is up front that the correct harness will connect too with no problem, and all labeled for you..

I put a new H/U in my 99 Taurus. The kit should have a 17-20 foot wiring harness running from the trunk amp up to the head unit. You DO NOT have to manually hook up the heater controls. You should have plugs/harnesses for all of that if you have the right kit. I got mine from Crutchfield, and all the harnesses were included, along with a new oval dash faceplate.

american cars are a pain in the *** to install stuff.......they just do it that way so when you do go to upgrade you have to spend big $$$$ on there "special wireharness" not only that nost of the time you have to take your whole dash out to install a radio espcially in chevy cavaliers...
