1996 Nissan 300ZX system evaluation

Hello I am doing an install for a friend. He wants something that will be louder than his stock BLOSE system but still sound balanced for around 800 bux. Mostly because a speaker is acting funny and its expensive to replace. So here are my plans:

HU: Pioneer BT one (already installed)

Front Stage: RF T162S 6.5" component set ($150)

Rear speakers: None

Amp: Kicker ZX350.2 (125wrms @ 4 ohms) ($125)

Sub: Kicker S8L7 D4 ($140)

Sub Amp: ZX500.1 ($180)

Amp Kit: Tsunami dual amp 4awg kit AMP48-RCA ($90)

Deadening: RAAM Mat 1 roll

Ok so he only wanted half of his trunk gone so I am guessing that gives me like 2cu ft max to work with. Anyone know the dimensions I have to play with? I havent measured yet. So I was thinking of doing a 8" L7 ported with 1 cu ft net. Sub and port facing to the unused side of the cargo space. This weekend we are doing the deadening, I plan to completely seal the doors. The enclosure will have a 2.5" depress at the top to mount the amp, and a cover that will screw on to only show the nice part of the amp. Any objections to mounting the amp on the enclosure?

Feel free to give me other suggestions on equipment as long as the prices are around those I posted shipped. Basically I just want to get as loud as possible with the sub as long as it has decent SQ, something that isnt going to sound like a fart cannon, the HDC315 I have he liked, so anything as loud a possible with the space I have to work with(1.5 cu ft total interior enclosure volume), but stay with better SQ than the HDC3 and around $140 shipped. Skip the money and turbo the car. All the noise you need right there.

Nah. I can't comment too much on the sub, but I'd probably go with something else. Alpine Type R, maybe, a 12", in a ported box, 2 cubes or so, I think? Someone else should comment there.

The components, I'd recommend an ID set. Rather than a rf comp set. About $40 more in price, but you could make up some of that by going with a knuconceptz 4 gauge kit for cheaper.

Get a 10'' ssa icon put it in anywhere from 1 to 1.25@30 with a single 4'' aero. They are rated at 1000rms but I sent 500 to each of mine and they sounded great.

Or if you can't find one used for that cheap look into a mach 5 ixl 10''. They are only around $160 or so brand new.

yeah i wouldn't do an L7 if you only want to run 500 rms.
