1995 Saturn SL Installing Stereo, Sub, Amps, And Speakers

I went to a local car audio store to have these installed:

Receiver: Alpine CDA-9886

Speakers: Infinity Kappa 60.9cs (component Speakers) and Infinity Kappa 2 way speaker for the rear deck, and MTX elite te404 amp to power them,

Subwoofer: 1 JL Audio w3, and alpine mrp-m500 to go with it.

That guy at the store said he will have to do to the rewiring for the speakers, and they are asking a total of 600 dollars to have all those installed, (cables, wires) included.

Now, if it was just 200 dollars, i would have had them do it, but 600 dollars is way too much. So I decided that I will do it myself. I dont know if any of you guys have any experience with Saturn 1995 SL,

I need some advise to get the factory stereo out, running the wire to from amp to the speakers, and what gauge of wire for the amp do I have to use ?

Your help will be highly appreciated.

thanks

Do you plan on upgrading anytime soon?

If not, you could probably run 4 AWG.

If you are, just go the whole huttinany and go for 0/1 gauge. [if you have the money to spend. That'll run you approx 1.80 [With or with out shipping, I'm not sure which] a foot at http://www.knukonceptz.com].

As for the factory head unit, most of them can be taken out with a metal coat hanger. Cut the ends off so it makes a kind of U shaped, put them into the slots, push inward and pull out.

And as for the wire to / from the amp.

From the wire from your battery to your amp, in your trunk you want to cut it up, I suggest using a distribution block. Your amps don't call for any larger than 8-AWG from that distribution block to your amps. From your amps to your speakers, I'd run 14-AWG or 16 AWG wire. It shouldn't need much more.

Ok so just start unscrewing stuff on the dash til you get factory out heh...

Run 4ga wire just get a kit they cheap... Run power from bat to trunk for amps on one side and then your rcas/remote wire/speaker wire on other side. When you get your factory stereo out and put the new wiring harness on wire all your speaker wires with new ones running to the back to your 4ch... Hook up your rcas and remote wire to deck and put deck/dash kit in then move on to back and hook everything up... Hope that helps..
