Well, I've been looking at car audio for a while now, and I still can't make my parents happy with putting a system in my truck, so I was thinking about either a home system, or putting a system in a 1989 Cadillac we have just sitting around...

I think I will give it a shot at trying to install everything myself so I can get a job at an audio shop in college or for summers or something...

Do you think this is a good idea? or just a waste of time and money?

I can go cruisin' with bass //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

...in an old car though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

...but it's still bass //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

would you do it if you had no other way to get a system?

i would not waste my money and get a system if i wasnt allowed to have one?

or id just buy the stuff and do it neways, that is if you bought ur car and pay for everything, if not then wait till u get outa house and own ur own stuff then build a system

I could either buy it from them cheap or them just give it to me though....and have 2 cars in college.... maybe eventually getting enough in it to do competitions... as just a show car... but idk...

Probably yes. But then again, I drive a 12-year old rustbucket so the stigma doesn't bother me as much //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The idea here is to get your parents to see that a) you know your **** & b) this stuff has intrinsic value far beyond seeing how loud you can "bump".

I plan to use inexpensive, used products at the first though...

Keep the total under like $500...if that's possible

then gradually upgrading subs and amps...

I say install something in that bad boy even if it is used or cheap. The more hands on experience you have installing the better off you will be when you want to put that dream system in a really nice car.Experimenting with an older vehicle will be a great learning experience and if you screw something up you didnt break a $20K car.

your pitchin like a f uckin pu ssy

Thank you for helping me out with your opinions!

Resonix is supposed to be the bees knees, but it is a little $$. If I was doing the whole car, probably would shell out for the entire resonix...
