To the original question, I think an 18SX, given the proper space would be a very good daily driver setup.
I also think however, that you'd have pleny of power to push those L7s assuming that impedences match up and you're able to wire the subs down to a 1 ohm load. I've heard a few setups with a directed 1100d pushing 2 L7s and it was plenty of power to get them going.

i actually had a directed 1100d pushing my l7's before i got my Sx1250.1

i just want to change it up a bit, maybe get alittle better SQ. and even more SPL. im kind of limited to the power i have now, because the lowest quote i got for a HO alternator was $550 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif so i'd like to increase SPL and get more SQ with the power and space i am limited too.

Does your vehicle have room for two alternators under the hood.....asking since you did not tell us what you are driving. Cheap and reliable charging system is just ANOTHER stock alternator with a little custom bracketry and a new belt. Two alternators running great amperage at low/mid RPM.

lol jp I love my SX and as soon as I get a bigger amp, the other is gonna be there too...
