166 db calibrated cheapie termlab for DMM's

I don't know why you're taking it so personally since I never quoted anybody.
90% of the people here say they will do something and never do. The other 10% carry the rest with great results. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

If I had the means to do the test, I would be more than happy to do hundreds of runs to test them and post my findings. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If someone wants to send me a TL, I'd be more than happy to do a side by side //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
I own both and have done a quick comparison. I checked them at 30 hz MIL meter was .8 above the TL.

35 HZ was .3 above the TL

42 Hz was dead on the TL

Test was done with a Fluke DMM

It seems it is fairly accurate and it is frequency dependent. The main difference is the opening on the TL is directly against the windshield and the MIL I set it facing towards the winshield since the cups are located on the side as opposed to the face of the TL.

I do.
All I have is the mic itself, but thats really all you need.
pm sent.

If anyone else does then please PM me. I will buy the one with the best price //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

How well do these work with a cheaper DMM?

edit: still looking so send me a PM. TeamPSI was asking a lot more than what I was looking to spend.

Could someone post up a better pic of the unit. Looks like it is just the same sensor used in a TL but uses a DMM instead of an interface box and SW for the reading.

That's exactly what mine looks like. I never did get a chance to have any good testing side by side with a TL. I only got 1 run and this meter told me 146.2 using a craftsman meter, and the TL read 145.7 @ 43Hz.
