Even if it was a new AC mic....his score can be inflated 10db with the turn of a knob on the meter
So he could have theoretically hit 142 and the mic inflated to 152 on the score

I post this every time someone mentions the A/C mic:

http://realmofexcursion.com/videos/Various/tl_vs_ac.wmv

Perfect video to show diff

Now it CANNNN be just as TL if set right and the db knob not messed with...but i can never trust the score anyone says from AC...TL is ALWAYS the same...always the STANDARD
Oh god, SAYAR...

WRONG. A TL can be adjusted just like a AC. And We have had 4 tls in the same car at the same time, and had different db readings. like 1.2 db off was the maxiumum.

ive seen someone say the "K factor" can be changed on the TL. I do not know what that means, but at my first comp a few weeks ago (USACI), all of the other actual competitors that compete on a normal basis said their TL score was about 1db low. they said they regularly do a certain score.

edit:: ^^^ beat me to it lol, but how do you adjust them?

yeah i was at a show yesterday and we are playing around doing port wars, and the two guys got the sensor and crossed them so they switched them at the box and one guy said it messes with the k factor

anyone know about the TL not reading the same then? in that case, no DB # can be compared to someone else's unless you were at the SAME show using the SAME exact meter....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif:confused://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

To me…colder temp= denser air=higher numbers, but I think that there is a limit in that understanding.

This works with my car but my teammate has just the opposite happen.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

I believe it to be determined by the individual vehicle. Just like everything else.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
