150RMSx2 - Which of these 2 amps?

you'd be making the 2300 work harder while the 2600 wouldn't be working hard at all. think of it like trying to get a drink. to get the same amount of drink would you rather have it out of a coffee stirrer and you having to **** real hard or would you rather it just flow smoothly with no restriction?

my question is what are you trying to achieve? what kind of car what will you be powering? what's the rest of your system consist of?

Just wondering because I am trying to decide which to get for the CXS Chameleon set. I am trying to keep my total power requirements to a minimum because I can't afford a HO alternator or multiple batts, and I already have the IDMAX which I'm going to feed 600 or 700 watts once I find the right amp.

Right now I have it hooked up to a 1000rms mono and along with my current 240rms 4 chan amp, my electrical is struggling. My amps get super hot, headlights dim, and mono amp goes into protection eventually if its a really hot day. I've done my BIG 3 and have a pretty big front batt. Just want to improve my soundstage by going comps and a 2 chan amp, and upgrade to a higher quality, and lower wattage, mono amp. Looking to run about 900-1000rms total.

what kind of car do you have this in? the reason y i ask is because i run what's in my sig and have a stock alt walmart battery small svr28-12 batt in back and have no probs. now on hot days if ur amp is cuttin out it's more likely do to heat so put some fans on them. what amps are you running now? and with what size wire?

Foget all about what your doing and upgrade your electrical first.
Why would I need to upgrade my electrical for 900 watts? I've already done the BIG 3 and have an upgraded deep cycle/starter combo battery. I could spend $500 on a HO alternator, but then I would be stuck with the same low quality amps / so-so speakers for at least another 6 months to a year before I could afford to do some changes again. I would much rather get higher quality gear now so I could enjoy it and still below 1000watts so I wouldn't have any reason to upgrade my alt.

what kind of car do you have this in? what amps are you running now? and with what size wire?
99 Mitsubishi Galant, a cheapo Sony 4 chan amp that does 60x4, and an Alpine M1000 that doesn't sound any better or louder than the Kenwood 8104D that it replaced. 4 Gauge on the mono amp, forgot what on the 4chan. I'm looking to get rid of all my coaxials, go with some high quality comps so that I have a great front stage, get a nice 2 chan amp, and then get rid of my Alpine M1000 in favor of something like the Arc Audio KS500.1. So my total wattage would be going from 1240 now to 900 after everything is all said and done, all while getting a significant boost in SQ.

It's pretty much between the i2300 and i2600. Since the i2600 requires a bigger fuse, does that mean it will drain more from my electrical than the i2300? Or since I would be running both at 150rms x 2, would it be the same current draw and not matter?

BTW, seems pretty impressive you're running all that on your stock alt, how many amps is it?

240amps. keep in mind an amp doesn't always pull all the amperage that the fuses says it pulls. that just the "max" amperage it can pull. i'd go with what brian says the 2600 you'd get the same power with less work from the amp. with that said i'd also upsize your main power wire from the battery. i'd go with a min of 2ga 1/0 is usually easier to find. make sure your big 3 is actually grounded to the frame.
