15" xxx recone question

yes the tinsel wire, im posting this for a friend i sold it to him and he had soldered it once or twice and he was wondering i told him i could find out

No, he doesn't need a recone.

But he does need someone who can competently fix a tinsel lead. A new (longer) lead may be needed.

Or, he's simply overexcurting the woofer......in which case the problem isn't the tinsel lead, but rather his use of the subwoofer.

ok, now he can't take it to like mobil tel or anywhere right to get that done? pretty much someone who does it on the side? i live in saint charles il if anyone knows anyone around the area, im an hour outside chicago. thanks adam
