15"L7 vs. 12"SX vs. 12"Type-X

no this is just my opinion its not any better than anyone else's. But hey my SX's hit the lows like my L7s couldn't but honestly if you just want to get loud the L7 is the sub to do it for sure and if you can get it cheaper than yes go ahead and get it in my opinion SX or L7 its a win win for the OP //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Either pair of drivers off of 2000wrms+ is going to be loud as balls, I dont care how you look at it, atleast if your a half knowledgable person when it comes to installing.......

Enclosures can and do make an extremely big difference, if you havent heard the potential of the woofers in different enclosures and setups then you really cant give an accurate description of how they can and do sound.

The l7's can absolutly hammer the lows, plain and simple, if you cant get the lows with an l7 then you dont know what you are doing. Not taking anything away from the SX either because they can get buck

well i had 2 12" L7s in 4 cubic feet box tuned to 38 hz and they got insanely loud but the lows just weren't there. and now i got 1 15" SX in 4 cubic feet box tuned to 38 its not as loud of course cus your comparing 2 12"s ported to 1 15" but the sound quality is better and the lows are definately there. i already have my second SX its just that there is no where close to enough room to put the both of them ported in the back of my 01 bonneville //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif oh the L7s were getting 1100 rms of a memphis mcd1000 and the SX on the same amp was wired to 2 ohm and was only getting 600 watts but in a week or so i should be buying an MD 2D from R/t Pimp so i't will be getting 1000 rms //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I guess i don't know what i'm doing then bro //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif i wasn't really looking for lows or i would have tuned lower but i'm just saying both the L7s and the SX were tuned to 38 hz and the SX definately got low while the L7s didn't.

and sadly i never got to see the L7s full potential since i was only giving them 550 watts rms each //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif but this is also true for the SX so idk.

I see why you are mis-informed then, your not going to touch the lows with a pair of 12" drivers tuned that high, and obviously a 15" driver at the same tuning could catch them better and not have to work as hard to get there with the cone area advantage.

Plain and simple you have to compare apples to apples....i.e.....same size drivers, same setup, same power. Otherwise dont spread ill-informed information to people looking into those particular drivers. I dont have a problem with you stating how each of your setups sounded, but dont base your opinion of the drivers off of the setups you listed.

From my experience with both of these products you obviously know where I stand, so to the starter of the thread, take whoevers opinion you want because that is all they are, opinions, everyone has them.........

i agree with you 100 percent //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

couldn't agree more and Mikey B i can tell your a very wise man it was nice having this little discusion with you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

After all what are we all here for? To give our opinions based off of what we have experience with and to inform the mis-informed. Not to come on here and bash people for just stating what they know and giving their personal opinions.

Cheers all!
