15"L7 vs. 12"SX vs. 12"Type-X

which would of the three would be louder.. i'm lookin for that chest pounding sound pressure in the car heh

2 15" l7's sealed

2 12" re sx's slot vented

2 12" Alpine Type-X's slot vented/sealed?

all three cost about the same for a pair. but need some opinions on the three options or if any one has heard them before would help

depends on how much power your gonna be running. I've heard both the SX's and the L7s and i would have to say the L7s have a huge advantage since they are 15's and the sx's are 12's if they were both 15's i would take the SX's no questions asked.

Why not port the L7s? Not enough room?

If that is the case I'd use the SX's. They'll get very close, if not louder ported than the L7s. You'll also appreciate the extra sound quality.

Dont waste your time with teh type-x its an sq driver, and you have to compare apples with apples, of coarse to 15" drivers have the potential to get louder. l7's hands down if you port them, if you dont have the room for that then go with the sx's.

and yes i have experience with all of those drivers

well i can fit one 15" ported but not two... would thier be much of a difference with one 15" SX/L7 vented and 2 12" SX's vented

getting one 15" would save some money then getting two 12"s

how much room do you have, before we can come up with any type of educated guess.............

Theres just no real way of fitting two 15"l7s in the proper enclosure in a trunk, even a big trunk, unless its a crown vic that can hold 10 dead bodies (or if you do a build in)......Ive had enough trouble getting a ported box to slide in a trunk with a single l7, let alone two of them. Definatly isnt gonna happen ported, sealed maybe. I would prefer to easily toss the box in with 2 12's ported and do whatever I want with them, i.e have the option of switching up the box design. Rather than being stuck with sealed box and no real way of messing around with it. Thats just me and what my experience tells me to make of the decision.......
