15" DC XL box size?

I know off the website the suggested ported size for an enclosure is 3.5 cu ft, but would going bigger hurt anything on this sub? Itll be off an aq 2200.

I can get either two pro boxes for this sub.

4.50 cu. ft. -.23(sub displacement) = 4.27

W: 35.25" D: 18" H: 17"

or

3.85 cu. ft. -.23(sub displacement) = 3.62

W: 32" D: 17" H: 17"

Also, does anyone know what the difference between the dc xl vs the dc xl spl edition? The spl edition doesnt have a pole vent on the bottom.

One is for spl and burping the other is daily

And im aure dc says 3.5 cubes ported for the xl 15

They dont recommend sealed

i did 4.25 after displacement and port tuned to 34 hertz on a level 3 15 ,and it was slammin on 400 watts rms ,it even surprised my son.mine was 35.5 x 18.5 x 20 port was 3" x 17 x 27 i believe , 45s in all the port corners and back corners of the box .

ha, thats what im trying to do... Getting louder on lower wattage. Wouldnt 2200 watts rms be over kill though in that over sized box?

nope just make sure the signal is clean
