I'm pretty sure the hk series in the best that they made. The right ones will hold a butt load of power and get pretty loud. I built a box for an MA 1550w, their most basic 15 (300wrms), I put it in 3.1cubes at 38hz with 2 4inch pvc pipe ports and it sounded surprisingly really good.

ya this is a DVC 2ohm 2k watts rms 4k peak. I currently have 2 jl audio 12w3v3-2's would the one ma audio 15 be better than my current 2 jls?

Also my amp is a memphis mcd1100 1100 watts rms power which is drastically lower than what the MA audio speaker calls for. Is that a problem?

What satisfaction did you get out of the MA? I am about to by 2 of them, so words of the wise would help my judgement before the deal.

the SSA ICON is the better sub, but MA is decent i got a pair of MA EHO15's that are quad voice coils @ 1.3ohm and 5000watts rms the HK15x2 is its little brother, both discontinued though. MA is good for "discount brand"

The EHO replaced the HK line. I had all of them when I was sponsored by them. Decent subs for sure. I managed to set a world record years ago with 2 HK15s and 4 hk4000Ds in a pro-stock 1001-5000 in usaci. They will not hold that kind of power for more then a burp though.
