Because more spiders add mechanical resistance. That means it makes it harder for the coil to move the cone back and forth.(this can lead to less thermal power handling since it takes so much more power to actually move the coil so it's just sitting in dead air.) It also raises FS. With a woofer, you never want to add more spiders unless you are bottoming out and have no choice.

i can get louder with one of these than you can with that 15 and i can sell it for much more than you can sell the 15 for since kids go crazy for em on cl.

There is nothing wrong with this sub and this is not a discussion thread. I used this sub for finals and Keith was there to see me putting up 50's on music as an average. Sorry that you don't have the power to push this sub man

got plenty of power. i push 2 soundstream xxx 18s to their limits. if you can show us a vid of this thing doing 150 plus on music ill gladly pay twice your asking price.....
