hey bros and **** gals i got a 2 part question first

i have a 05 maxima i put a rockford fosgate HX2 15 in my trunk in a proted box i am currently using my JBL GTO7001 to run it (2 channel even tho it says mono 700 rms/1400 peak.....425 rms4ohms) its bumpin but im expectin more, now is this because its a 15 in a trunk and with a 15 u can hear me coming or is it because of the amp

now second part

do you think a 12 in a trunk would sound better inside the car than its 15 counterpart example rf hx2 12/rf hx2 15..... i really want that shake the car feeling and i feel that this 15 can do that but i need your wisdom and guidance thans guys!!!!!!

That HX2 should be doing the job! That sub is a beast. What size is the enclosure your using? Your amplifier is a mono. It's 700 watts @ 2 ohms. Is that how you've got the HX2 wired? Even at 700 watts that Rockford needs more power than that. And if you got it wired to 4 ohms then you're probably hardly moving it. That would only be about 350 watts or so (I think).

man u guys are smart ok

so 1. how is it mono if i have 2 positive and negative channels on the amp and NO POSSIBLE WAY TO BRIDGE IT im losin my mind bro and on the sub i have a wire going from positive to positive - negative to negative then a wire going from my pos post to the pos on the amp and neg post to neg on the amp is that 2 ohms??????

2. the sub was facing the rear but a buddy said turn it around and face it inside since i could fold down the seats the port is also facing the same direction as sub so forward

Its probably only going to be louder facing forward if you seal off the whole trunk. You have it at 2 ohms if its a d4 sub.

The amp probably has dual speaker inputs just to make wiring easier.

trunk boxes are one of the hardest to get loud... how much airspace does you box have, and what is it tuned to?

only real options to make it louder, are to either face the subs foward, and seal off from the trunk, or to build a blow through style and port it through the rear deck.

FIRST OF ALL LOVE THAT VIDEO ON UR POST MAST HAHAHAHA IM AT WORK LIKE GIGGIDY GIGGIDY lol

yes its a dual 4 ohm sub but according to how i told u i wired it is that correct??

from your explination, you are running it @ 2ohms...

i highly doubt it's your amp that is causing you to be dissapointed... your enclosure is one of the most important parts of an install, and really can make or break an install... what size is your enclosure and what is it tuned to?

Build a proper enclosure & a 12 can be much louder than a 15. All dependent on the enclosure. Then again, you could just put the 15 in a proper box and it'll get down too, given you've got the proper air space. As said before though, trunks aren't easy to get loud on the meter. Loud to the ear, yes. The meter will always kill your confidence in a trunk though.
