14volt vs. 16volt?

i really like the DC-DC inverters ask jacob from sundown audio about the Harrison Labs FLUX cap. he has 2 of them in his jeep. basically it takes 12V from ur alt and turns it into 16V so you can have an 16V system with an **** factory alternator using this thing. im really thinking about getting 2 but they are **** expensive and HARD to find!

x2
You CAN have 2 completely different voltage systems, if you have the room for alts. It's totally fine, just use common ground for everything and you're good.

What I was talking about is not really heard too often, simply for the fact that such inverters can be a bit expensive, but a random idea is to have both large supplies, have a high watt DC-DC 12V to 16V inverter, and supplement the 16V line when needed. That's overkill, but if I were to do it personally, I would build the inverter and do that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Remember,

8kW*1.2=9.6kW

@16V that is 600A

@14.4V that is roughly 670A

@13.8V that is roughly 700A

@12.8V that is 750A
and how would we go by building one? because those harrison flux caps are HIGH!

Dude. Did you forget I told you about them and that I'm only a couple miles from them?? Haha. They are good but not what I'm looking for. They still would work off trucks 12v. I want a setup all its own away from the 12v.

Whatt'd be cool is to have both, but have a DC-DC 14V-16V inverter setup. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
I personally would say, depending on how many 40.1s you have, determines your answer.
Like a Harrison Labs Flux cap setup... DC-DC converter that will charge a 16v bank.
