140a h/o alt or new box?

looking at a new 140a h/o alt for my civic or having a custom box built for me. I'm the box would cost me 200 carpeted double baffle with aero's 3.5 cubes. and the h/o looks like it will cost me between 240 and 275. i could pbly build the box myself with a little help from u guys cuz i don't know anything bout using aero's. (if someone wants to help me out with that now that would be awesome) and i could build the box of prbly 60 plus aeros and paint. so should i go for the h/o alt and not have a really good looking box? my box is too small right now. and if i get the h/p alt ik imma want to get a bigger amp and run 2 12's instead of 1 15. lol and i don't have the money for that.... so would anybody wanna help me with the box build? port and sub forward. 3.5 cubes. 27 hertz. 16 high and i think 32 wide by 39 long. thanks for any help.

Depends on what amp/s you are using? A factory alt might be OK with what you have.

my voltage is dropping into low 11's so i need a new alt or i need to turn down my gains. I'm thinking the box will help a lot because the one i have now is far too small so a bigger box should help. i have an 80a alt right now. i just found a 160a h/o alt for 255 shipped so i might do that...

When looking for an alt just double check to see where it says the full output will be at. It should be at 2k but sometimes some alts wont put out the full power until 5 or 6k. I would go with a new alt if I were you, you are going to kill that thing in no time. And yes a bigger box will help if you turn down the gains some but it won't cure your drop.

yeah its 150a at 2200rpms and I'm going to build a bigger box cuz i think i found someone to buy my old one. the time to build my new box and i won't have my sub running will **** tho...

Yeah, I thought about that one. I was just turned off by the inconsistencies of the reported power. One part says 160, then 170, then I emailed him and he said up to 190 at over 2200 rpm. How much over 2200?

it says 150 and 2200 and it does 160 at higher but the one u got does 140a at what?
