13W7 doesn't sound right...

It's currently in a box built by Tweeter. To JL specs, I hooked it up about 10 minutes ago and at low volume it sounds great. But then I turn it up and get a kind of wooshing sound.

What are the internal and external dimensions of the enclosure? Can you get dimensions of the port (assuming it's ported).

sounds like the port area is to small

the W7 is a long excursion woofer......it needs good air movement

sounds like port is too shmall.

I played a few low range songs and listened around, I found some air leaks in the box.

Sounds like you can have leaks or a tiny port.

i think JL recomends a pretty small port to start with. i think is 1.5 wide and 14 tall IIRC
