18" Q with 8" Port in 7cu. ft. box tuned to 32Hz in Maxima... PICS

Hey guys

This is just another build for the 18" Q in the Maxima

It is 7cu. ft., tuned to 32 hz. with an 8" Port blowing through the arm rest

It gets pretty loud, but not as loud as I was hoping for. It is just about the same as the last box I had, which was the 3x 4" Aeros at 5.6cu. ft. This one moves more air, or at least it feels like it, since the port is pretty much blowing right at me. Seems like it moves the change around in my cup holder a little bit more, and may get a TINY bit louder

I thought it went sub up/ port back? Does this make it sound better/ louder than the way I've always heard it should go?

Edit: no vids until my cousin comes home with his cam... dunno when that will be, or if i'll have this in there stil

as i stated... not much louder to the ear at least... probably a little higher on the mic though....

so basically i added 1.5cubes to the box, and have more port area I believe, and little to no difference.... ports on the other box fired towards the pass. side

The reason it doesn't sound any louder to you is probably the fact that the port and sub are both moving air thru that armrest. Seal off the port against the armrest, so that the box and sub are sealed into the trunk, and the port is sealed up against that armrest. so if you guys have any suggestions on how I can get louder, as far as setups go... drop em in here...

as of now, im going to sell the Q, and try to get an HDC18.... and use the old box, with a 10" port out the passenger side
