Hello, I am new to the board.... That is my set up i plan on running. it will be in a sealed box. I dont know the dimensions yet. I am concerned that the bass wont be enough, My old stereo consisted of two solobaric l7's (Square's), with that same amp. the stereo was in a f250 4 door. the box was behind the back seats and speakers facing the front of the vehicle. I heard that was the wrong way to face them. To be honest i was not happy with the amount of bass it produced. I have now purchased the 13w7 and planning to have a professional build the sealed box and wire it to the amp. I like alot of deep bass, will my set up produce it???? any info will be greatly appreciated thanks..

yes it is, i guess they were going to make the box to manufactures specs. i was hoping to face the speaker to the roof, or to the back wall.....the box is going in the truck

they are going to take out my seat that is right behind my drivers. it is a 80/20 seat bench.. they will remove the (20) portion and put a box there.. it will be removable if needed.. i read from other posts that sealed= better soud quality and ported = louder.

i want to hear loud clean low bass.. hoping this will satisfy me. like i said i was used to a pair of 12L7's. yea they were loud but not that impressive...

just by having it took out from behind the seat will make all the difference, i think u should be happy with it. And if it still isnt quite loud enough have a ported box made but tuned low 28-30hz

honestly, the two L7's can prolly outpound the 13w7 if they are both setup in sealed boxes to spec with that power. the w7 has dvc3 coils, so you will be down to 1.5ohms. the hcca amps are stable at 1ohm (and below iirc?) with 2400w RMS.the two l7's are (im guessing) dvc4, so they get down to 1ohm.

l7's = more cone area, and more power, less excursion

13w7 = less cone area, and less power, but more excursion

honestly, the L7's can sound great and get loud as hell in the right box with that ammount of power. before you buy different equipment, you should seriously look into the installation before giving up. if it dosnt sound loud enough, then you had it installed wrong.

plain and simple.

my L7's were 8 ohms, i dont have the L7's anymore....

plus it matters where they were.. they were firing at me.. if the w7 is facing up or to the back it should sound better.

wrong. my xxx points to me and it sounds the same as pointing back. it really makes no difference what way it points. seems like the l7s were installed wrong. i myself woundnt of went to a w7 because the price is too high for what you get. just make sure it is installed the correct way and port the dam thing. theres no reason to hold it back.

you're wrong, its quite obvious that speaker placement affects sounD, it may not be totally evident in your subwoofer setup, but it is in most. its called A-C-O-U-S-T-I-C-S" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

13w7 sealed.....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif Any w7 sealed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif . Just my opinion, but if you have limited space I would find a sub that is made for small spaces and sound decent sealed. No offense or anything //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Wrong, sealed doesnt mean better SQ. You can get just as good if not better SQ in a ported box WITHIN the tuned frequency, the cone control within the tuned frequency is more controlled. Outside the tuned frequency, the sealed will be better +have more cone control.

ok, so if the solobarics were installed wrong. they didnt sound that great. i understand that. If all things go well example the w7 is installed correctly and proper box dimesions used... is the w7 going to have incredible bass???? that is what i want to know... will this thing hurt my ears????
