13.5W6 vs 10w7

Just like it says, which do yall think would be louder in a ported enclosure to specs of course. I am going to run the JL500/1v2, and those two subs are right at the same price, didn't know if the w6 might be a tad louder. Thanks, and please don't flame this becasue I am not buying Fi or RE, I simply do not want to buy new alternators, and caps, and batteries.

Why do you say that, just curious, I want the loudest out of the two, I have heard a older 10w6 and it hit nicely, just never heard the new ones.

If all you're concerned about is loudness, there are other subs I'd look into.

Now, if you want some of the best in accuracy, it's hard to go wrong with the W6v2.

well it isn't like JL and kicker are the only brands out there. And with a tahoe you aren't exactly stressed for space.

I dont understand why most people wud go with the w6v2 instead of the W7. I personally love low notes. How much more can the W6v2 sound than the W7? In what way does it sound better? Does the W7 not have the mid bass frequencies? Its just so much more expensive than the W6v2, why wouldn't just be a better performance? period.

I got this statement from JLaudio.com and here is what they said...

At first glance, you may only see a rather massive woofer, but as you begin to analyze the technology and the performance envelope of a W7, you will realize that they are much more than just another big SPL speaker. For us, designing a pure SPL speaker, with no regard to sound quality, would have presented a far lesser challenge than the one we chose to undertake with the W7 project. The goal was to design subwoofer drivers that deliver immense output with an extremely high level of fidelity.

It wouldn’t be enough for the speaker to sound great or be loud, it had to do both. This goal required us to develop a deeper understanding of the inner behavior of speakers, new and proprietary modeling systems and six new, patented or patent-pending technologies. We could have made a good-sounding, big speaker without going through any of this effort, but we chose to stretch our limits and devote the time and resources necessary to create a real breakthrough.

I wud go with a 12w7 INSTEAD OF THE 10. iT ALL DEPENDS ON THE INSTALL, ENCLOSURE AND THE VEHICLE.

Read it again if you have to, but the W7 is best of both worlds.
