The W6 and W7 are made by JL AUDIO. They are built in house at JL Audio. JL Audio makes their own equipment, and for themselves only. I can't imagine who you would have heard this from.

IIRC ID aided in the research and development of the W7 series w/ JL Audio, and it was actually through this R&D for/with JL that ID developed and built their own high output, low distortion subwoofer; the IDMax.

That may be what he is thinking of.

I could be wrong aswell. But I have that stuck in my head for some reason......

i havent heard the w7 but i just picked up a pair of idmax 12" last week and these things rip apart anything...i mean parts of my car that never rattled are falling apart and the base is so pure its amazing..
