12w7 vs. 12"IDMAX

I have a choice 2 12w7 or 2 12"IDMAX. Which one is better, I need help. For the IDMAX I have a chance to get an Orion XTR PRO 2400. Dont know what to push JL's with. Some good detailed advice please.

i havent heard the w7 but i just picked up a pair of idmax 12" last week and these things rip apart anything...i mean parts of my car that never rattled are falling apart and the base is so pure its amazing..

yea I read the rms on the IDMAX are 1000 and JL 750, both can handle about 200 more of course. But I also heard and I quote heard IDM's are more SQ than anything.

I want it to be loud but I also want the bass to be tight and clear. So I guess loudness first quality second. Just looking for a good all around sub. If the IDM's can be loud, given the right enclosure, and better SQ then IDM it is. Plus like I said Orion XTR PRO 2400, can I go wrong? 2 12's and Orion amp, $800

IDM dont like over 1000 rms much, but the sound they make is so lovely.

go with idmax!! I have the idq and love it. i cant image being able to put 1200rms to it ported. And if you get 2 wowsers man thats what i would go with!!!

JL makes good drives, I have heard the 13W7, it sounded really good and pounded, but I prefer the sound from the IDMax

JL makes some sexy azz moofas. I just don't buy em because they are esspensive!

both would be classified as "sq" subs. the IDmax's are pretty efficient and work well with less power. generally people don't run over 1k watts to them.

13W7 can move 39% more air than a 12W7.There's no replacement

for displacement.

I think the w6's and w7's are made by ID if my memory serves me right. I would go with the max, and at half the cost its seems the only choice
