12w7 vs. 12"IDMAX

you think the w6 and w7 are made by ID? I am not for sure, but i highly doubt that. i haven't heard the ID max's but the w7 can get pretty F'n loud. from what i hear it's a great driver so really you can go wrong. keep in mind the voice coil configs on the w7 is super ghey.

I think the w6's and w7's are made by ID if my memory serves me right. I would go with the max, and at half the cost its seems the only choice

The W6 and W7 are made by JL AUDIO. They are built in house at JL Audio. JL Audio makes their own equipment, and for themselves only. I can't imagine who you would have heard this from.

do a search. there was a comparison of the jl w7, idmax, and diamond d9, and a couple others if i remember. the difference in spl was so close. all in all they are very similar in sound and spl. if they are the same price go w7, if not id's are a bit cheaper new and authorized. either way you cabn go wrong, and i would shy away from 1000rms on the id max. they dont seem to like it that much. more like a 800rms woofer. can take 1000 in a small sealed box though. the id's will drop lower with more authority than the w7 from my experiance with both woofers, given a decent install.

the deal was 2 12" IDMAX and an Orion XTR PRO 2400 for $800 or 2 12w7 for $650. Whats the better deal. Money is not an option, just want to be heard.
i would go for the w7's. for that price you cant go wrong if they aren't blown.

but that price for the id's is great as well. depends on whether you want to buy an amp or not really. either way they are both great deals.

id heard many w7 installs and thought they sounded great ported or sealed. as for the id, ive personally never heard but they look sexy as well. i vote W7.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ID mutha grabbin MAX
yeah now that i am home from work and re-read this whole thing, i would go with the max's, you get an amp to run them, plus i would bet my paycheck that not nearly as many people know who ID is, and i like that better rather than everyone knowing who jl is is what the w7 is all about. you get that surprised look like who made those? one big reason i bought a mach 5 maw 15. no one has heard of them really, plus it was extremly cheap, and i just wanted to see if they were as good as i heard they were.

i picked up a used jl12w7 recently, got it running off an orion 2500d @ 3 ohms=about 13-1400 wrms.its as loud and sounds much better than my pair of rl-p 12s. never heard a max tho?

w7s are GOOD.

if you just want to be heard then you dont want max or w7 you want kicker or some other boom driver..

i would say he could be heard very well with either way. either of those subs has some decent spl potencial, plus the added bonus of sound very good.

2 IDmax's w/ that amp will be great. I've never heard a w7, but i sure do love my 2 IDmax's. I say go w/ the IDmax deal, because, like said earlier, the w7's vc config is lame.
