12w6v2's as home system subs????

They sound awesome in home:D

For chirstmas I got myself a couple of 13W6's along with a 1000w plate amp from Dayton audio for my HT/game/music room. I made myself a box, which was simple(not too good with ^3 calculations yet) I made a JL spec box, but I made it a double box, 2 chamber instead of 1(looks cooler) Along with some Subwoofer spikes, I absolutly love my W6's! They fill up the room very well, with just enough bass to shake the whole house and crack some paint, but not to ruin the foundation(i hope:eyebrow: ) For music they sound great, movies sound AMAZING and sound quality is IMO better then my 2 Polk Audio HT subs, 1 8" and 1 10"(very nice sounding and great quality) and pefect amount of output for my bass loving self, and big room(we're talking 18x24 feet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif ) So if you have a nice mediunm size room a single 12W6 with a 500w Bash or Dayton plate amp(not too much $, http://www.partsexpress.com ) and you make yourself either a JL spec OR lower tuned( better in home IMO) box you should be very happy with music!

But, really, if I was to do it again, I think I might consider a sub for less from RE or simular to get more output, in case you ever need the extra oomph. But I'm quite happy with W6's indoors //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/clap.gif.178cba2c538c68e720c727fcb024b19c.gif

Hope this helped:thumbupw:

Probably sound great for music, but I doubt their low-end extension capability is near that of other subs in the $500-700 sub/amp combo range. If you use it for movies, you want some extension down to 20-25 Hz. I love my Hsu VTF-3 MK II and got it for $525 with built-in amp.
