I was talking to a bud of mine. I'm thinking about running 3 12w6s with the JBL 1200.1 amp and he brought up the fact that the w6s are dual voice 6 ohm subs. The JBL can only be configured at 2 ohms or 4 ohms. Is this correct thinking?

And this combination wouldn't work?

Thanks.

running that sub at 3 ohms or 12 ohms would be fine. the most important thing is knowing your amp is capable of a 2 ohm load, so you will be fine with 3. the reason why they only rate it at 2 ohms and 4 ohms is probably because those are the most common configurations (or used to be anyways).
