OK so I have 2 8s sundown audio ported in my 350z right now and after about 2yrs now I'm wanting more output even though it's decent now. I was thinking about going to a single 12in ported instead. I have 2 original RE hybrids I bad in my civic and I was thinking about using one of those but I never found a box that had the airspace. I found a seller that makes a ported box with a flare port tube and has about 2 cubes space which is about what the RE needs I believe. Anyone think I should see about doing that or would there be a better route with a better sub to go with?

I say run what you have and at the least experience it, and if it doesnt meet your expectations, then thats the time to look into getting something else, and or upgrading

I've been runningg what I have for 2yrs Lol. At first I just wanted a bit of thump that's why I got the 8s but now I'm missing good bass. I forgot to say that the sub amp is my old ED nine.1 I still have.

Thats a great amp..and very well under rated too.I still have one that needs some attention, along with a Nine 2 i got burned on..Nine 5 I still have is pretty mint..Well, I was really trying to state that run what you have as opposed to that you have a pair of 12s sitting, and one in a nicely tuned ported enclosure may serve some real justice, before buying a new sub/subs.CSCStang , or Buck of High output enclosures can design you a nicely tuned enclosure and get a cut sheet and run it for a bit ,build it yourself with a cut sheet and seehow it will do for you..You can find a decent sub to pretty much get close to the enclosure specs you build and possibly yield great results if you decide to change sub/subs/.

An good friend of mine that is in to SQ../MECCA, ran an older ARC Flatline DVC 2 ohm 12 in a sealed 1.8 enclosure on an Edd Nine-1, in a single cab Chevy,in the center of the seat and sounded amazingly clean, and got down when he wanted it too.Im more into SPL/SQL,but His Hertz Milles setup and Gladden and sound deadening(2 layers inside and inner core thick) and SQ gear was one hell of a setup to listen too, and Slamm when he wanted. He ran a 13" Oblong Boston Sub for a bit..but that FlatLine was a fantastic sub.
