12gauge big enough for 500 watts?

im running 8 ga to my 300watt rms amp and i think i coulda gone with 4

do you all know the lower the gauge the bigger the wire??

huh. no amps have peak power draw..its all the same...

interesting....on my stereo it has these funny buttons that you push.the sound will get louder....i always imagined it took more power to get louder....

i'd have no problem with running 880watts of sound through 12g wire.....

i'm saying this to the person that said a amp doesnt have peak power draw....in a earlier post.....
