You have more space to save things. I dont think you can use PS2 games in any PS3 if thats what you mean. I could be wrong though.

i think all versions of the ps3 have their ups and downs.

your wrong...The new 120 is BW compatible. If you go to playstation.com it tells you right on the website which ones can and can't.

I wasnt completely wrong. Most PS3s are NOT BW compatible.

cause why would you buy a 500$ system and want to play a ps2 game on it

thats like buying a ferrari and still driving your 1988 station wagon during summertime near the beach

just buy a 60gig if you cant part with your ps2 games, you can always swap any laptop hard drive in. a 500gb is around 130 bucks and a very simple swap

Because then you dont have to keep your old PS2 around and can get around 40 bucks back by selling it towards the $500 you spent on the PS3.

And no. That is like buying a Ferrari, selling your old station wagon, but still using the Ferrari to go to your Magic The Gathering conventions.

The Emotion Engine (the hardware responsible for PS2 emulation) makes the entire console more expensive to produce and buy.

It makes much more sense to not have backward compatibility and just offer PS2 emulation software (i.e. older games offered on Playstation Online)

It also makes the entire console as a whole much more reliable and quick.

Are you thinking of the 160gb PS3? I don't think there is a 120gb but i'm probably wrong.
