Yes, you read that right...

I am getting a Kicker KX1200.1 tomorrow from a trade, and I was just informed by alxmlr789 that I would not be able to run this amp from only one battery...

Therefore, I am looking for a nice flip-out head unit with iPod compatibility.

Lemme know. If need be, I can provide a tiny bit extra cash.

why in the hell would you not be able to run it from 1 battery? i have ran more power thatn that off of a single batt

and you're prob gonna need to add a few hundred if you are looking for a good flip out unit with any decent capabilities

With stock electrical (assuming it is stock), this amp would have the chance to suffer, and clip extremely bad. He can buy a decent unit for a few hundred, I don't see why he'd have to add much. These are great amps, and I wish I had an indash so I can give my pair of DD1008a's 1200+ watts. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Again ryan, i did NOT say that. I said you will have some voltage drops, then you and your nobbish self says.. oh noes!! and whines.

Stop making me look like a fool.

So much overemphasis put on extra batteries here....

I've run over 2000W RMS off my stock electrical for YEARS... currently running 2800W RMS of all Class A/B power from a 90A alt and a single AutoZone $80 battery. Everything's working just fine and I even have minimal dimming.

as for having to add money to get a decent unit, these 1200.1 can be found used for @ 200. he said he wanted a decent flip out(that tells me no jensen and what not) so your gonna be looking at something in the 4-500 used range at least.

Thats what i told him.

Thank you verrrrrry much for being the first person that actually knows that with stock electrical, this amp will clip...

I want to trade it so I don't ruin it by not providing enough power to it, people!

#1-1200 should be fine on most electrical systems with some minor voltage drops.

#2-A 1200 watt amp should cause little to no clipping unless u have a 60amp alternator on like a geo or something.

#3-Keep the amp and hook it up.
