12 v constant into 12 switch. oops?

so i was installing (reinstalling actually) my sound procesory.

it was working fine, then i hooked up the power, ground and it needs a switched 12 v power, (like when the ignition key turns on) well i figured 12 volt constant would be the same and i plugged in both together, now the **** thing wont turn on at all, even when i hook it up how it originally was.

did i make a mistake by putting 12 volt constant into a switched 12 volt input? too much power maybe?

no the only way you could have messed up is by crossing the power and ground.

yeah i really dont remember if i did that, or if they touched. but i wouldnt have done it on purpose obviously. ive had power and ground touch before and it sparked, but never messed up anything.

either way, my processor is messed up, anyone else know if 12 v into a switched 12v could have been a for sure **** up.?

No, that wouldn't have hurt anything, it's the exact same voltage.

yeah thats what i figured. which is why i did t to begin with, with out worrying. well wtf, wonder why this ***** aint working. il try it again tomorrow. thanks for the help guys.
