12" sealed SQ sub. suggestions? IDQ or?

What happend to your CVX?
I have a Fi Q now and just bought a CVX. Had a lot of problems with the Q. Will be getting the Q reconed and putting it up for sale here shortly.

guess i need to change that. never ordered it, i had a 12" L7 laying around, and my two eclipses. figured i would go down a different route than the cvx. kind of sick of kicker.

just get an idq and go easy on the gain

why do you say that? Do you think the build quality and SQ is THAT much better than the others mentioned? I know for sure if he wants to use his 1000rms he should get a 1000rms sub. Double the power +3db sometimes. The 12" IDQ may handle around 700rms but you would have to be very careful so why take the chance of burning up a VC trying to get a little bit louder?

Can I un-suggest the mention of the BM please? BM 12's sealed don't perform nearly as well as they do ported. If you were talking ported, then a BM would definitely be in the equation...but not with 1000 watts. 1k watt would be doubling its power handling. You would also have to find one used as there are zero in stock right now.

An Icon can take 1000+ watts without a problem, so it is definitely a sub worth considering.

SSA Icon

SI Mag (a few are floating around the classifieds)

SS RL-p (just be smart on the gains)

AA Havoc (still over looked because the website is not up yet)

im leaning more towards a 15" Q or Icon. Ive wanted both for sometime now, but I have more of a pull towards the Icon

I bet a Havoc off 1000 watts would sound vicious. An RL-P would too. I used to run a MD2D to a pair and it loved them.

I don't really see the use of an SQ sub if the rest of the system or your tuning skills won't be up to par.

1000watts to a single sub wouldn't sound too great being paired up with 6.5" mids.

IMO, the mids has a lot to do with how the sub will sound and how it will integrate w/ the rest of the system.

And yes i had both
