12" Q Sealed vs DD 3510 Ported

After reading numerous posts and asking many questions, I finally jumped into the water. Unfortunately, ebay competition is a bit exciting and very expensive.

Given that I'm limited to 2^3 gross, which single downfired sub will rattle my bones more from 1200 watts?

Fi 12 Q (sealed) or DD 3510 (ported)

I've read several posts that discuss SQ vs SPL and others that clearly answer the question for same sized subs. However, it gets a bit fuzzy when comparing 2 different sizes.

Here's my reference point:

I've heard 2 DD 2512s on 2000 watts; also a single Fi BTL on 2000 watts...both rattled my bones. I cannot move up in size due to dimension limitations.

I'll keep you updated on my progress.

Task 1: Sound Deading (complete) - installed dynamat throughout the entire vehicle

Task 2: Highs (complete)- Installed Boston Acoustics

Task 3: Big 3 - waiting for the wire to arrive

Task 4: Power - Installing a Batcap Power Pack

Task 5: Sub and Amp - Purchased/awaiting 12 Q and 3510 to arrive with SX1250

I think I'm going to stick with the DD. I understand that I could get more gain by firing the sub downward vs forward.

Can I achieve the same additional gain by firing the sub towards the rear or side of the vehicle?

Keep in mind, we are talking about limited space beneath the rear seat of a Silverado, and the port fires forward on the opposite end.

Any advice is appreciated.

Why not 2 8's firing forward?

Seriously, 2 heavy 8's would be classy and un-thought of. My friend got a 01 z71 xcab with 2 OLD kicker 8's under each side, and he is slamming. Nothing real low or earth shaking, but plays one hell of a drum lick.

I thought about 8's; epecially after watching the Hellboy clip.

http://www.teamtoxicbass.com/downloads/videos/pete_rl-i8_hellboy.wmv...not sure where to find 8" PVC

However, I have already purchased the Fi Q 12 and 3510. I like earth shattering lows, and I have space limitations. And after surveying the bottom of my bench seat, I can operate up to 2.5^3 gross (with a hump in the middle).

Hense either 12 Q sealed or 3510 ported.

I click the hellboy link and this is what I get:
