12" Or 10" Spl Sub

If you had a choice to pic one 12" or one 10" sub for SPL which one would you pic.I don't care much for sq but its a bonus if a spl sub has it.

come on man don't you know anything. if you realyl don't care much for SQ than a top end 12" will produce more air movement b/c of cone area. therefore the 12" would hit harder and produce more SPL, you take the exact same top end sub that is in 10 and 12 and the 12 will hit harder.

my bad ya'll i misread what the question was. now i feel like a horses a@@. but hey maybe you will forgive me . anyway yeah all that they suggested are awesome speaker's.

now i have a question for anyone who wants to give advice. i only want 1 or 2 12"s in my car and i DON'T want 15"s just don't like the response or anything about them and i've even heard some really good one's like a brahma 15" and just didn't like it. so what kind of 12"s do you suggest?? i am running an MA audio class X amplifier that is 700rms@2ohms, 1000rms@1ohms. so i am really looking for either 1 bad *** dual voice coil 2 ohm sub that isn't totally SPL or 2 awesome dual 4 ohm voice coil subs. i was thinking some IDMAX 12"s you think those sound like winner's for what i'm looking for?? thanks for everything that is suggested.

a 15 is set to go low propper box and x over needed if not will be mud. brahma, blueprint or idmax would be my choices even the hated solo would do it

I'd say go with IDMAXs if you want to be easy on the wallet, I found a site that sells them for $250 a peice, but the problem is that there are NO IDMAXs in production right now. Well, image dynamics is trying to make them, but they have no cones! All the cones for the IDMAXs are being made overseas and until that outsourced manufacture delivers the cones, there won't be any IDMAXs made. And, who knows how long image dynamics will have to wait on their overseas manufacturing partner. What a bummer. I know that there is a really high probability that you can just get the adire brahma from jlaine for $379 a peice, which is really good considering what it is. I wish I went brahma honestly, but money is a consideration. Brahma's I am almost 100% will give totally a$$ kicking low end, more so than IDMAX.

Why not go with the adire shivas.. I find they have a good mix of SPL and SQ and are very easy on the wallet. [EDIT] Just relized you wanted different voice coils the what the shivas have. The brahma I guess would be good way to go if ya want 1 12" and it supports a 1 or 2 ohm load dont it?
