12" Memphis MOJO vs. MTX 9500

New mojo's are just around the corner...

Hell yea, they should be arriving to my shop the second week in march!! the only thing im not so happy with is the fact that they look very similar to JL's. Im very excited for the new slim woofers they are coming out with!! Now i can stop using the pioneer slim woofers under the back seats of dodge rams and f150s

haha I knew someone was going to say that and yes I do know how much it takes to bust a windshield. I've been in a blazer with 6 15s hittin 172db and didnt bust the windshield. Now in this case THE WINDSHIELD WAS NOT DAMAGED TO BEGIN WITH and I'm not saying it shatter it just produced a crack in it. This could've been done with just an weird flex of the vehicle.

dude i busted the wheather strippin on my windsheild n i was sittin in the truck however my port on the 15 was flexin and i broke the glue that hold it in place n it sounds like sh*t now ne one know a good way to fix that?

my opinion is the other way around. 9500 for music, mojo for spl......

i mean really i all comes down to box design. you port and tune low itll sound better on music, you tune higher itll be more spl oriented and less musical. cant go wrong with either sub,

as far as the windshield cracking. chances are there was probably a small crack of sort far down where the glass meets the frame of the car (not visible since the seal covers it). the vibrations causes that small crack to break even more. thats how normal loud system "cracks a windshield" while insane competition spl setups dont......

I have heard several mojo setups at competitions, and noone of them impressed me at all on music..

Have only heard 1 9500 setup, and it was 2 15"s....It still wasn't much on music...But seemed to handle the lows with more authority...

Of course these boxes may have been SPL boxes, I really don't know.

Personally for a daily driver, I'd go with the 9500s.

Go with one 15" MOJO for SPL and a 10" 9500 for SQ, the 10" size will add to the quickness of the woofer. Get an amp with a separate left and right gain control so you can crank the bass knob on the 15" MOJO incase you want more SPL instead of SQ.

*EDIT* I once cracked a windshield with one 10" MOJO. Actually only part of the MOJO, since it's modular it was only the motor that flew into the windshield when I threw it. Case closed.

Output wise I would give the mojo the win for sure. I heard the mtx is pretty freaking hard to break though
