12" Kicker L7 box ?'s

I am trying to install 2 - 12" L7's in the trunk of a Focus ZX3 (2 door hatch). First of all I am not sure if I have the room, as I want to keep the back seats.

I see that kicker suggests 3.5 cubes per......but I will be running a SoundStream XXX-10000 for daily purposes.

I don't plan on competing at this time, just want something that will make me deaf on my daily trips.............

any suggestions???

here is my current setup, doing a 144.9 on the new TL with the car sealed up on the dash.

Also another question about the car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Does it have a marble paint job or is it just dirty? not being a smara_s but it looks like a marble type paint job or some say bowling ball paint in the photo....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

do you have a spare tire area under that box? Mount your amps down there, SEe if you can make a box a little taller than that one. just get the dimensions so you can make the box as big as possible to fit in that spot. Maybe subs up port up. or subs back port back.

i build 3.2 cubes per sub (after all displacement for woofers and port) at 37 hz for L7 12s- if i remember correctly. I've done the same specs about a dozen times now- been happy.

I can move the amps any place, but the spare tire is not one that I want to mess with. I have been spareless in my other vehicles and it always ends up with a call to AAA. I put on roughly 150 miles a day in this car and am not willing to go without a spare.

I will grab some dimensions today and see what I/everyone can come up with.

The main reason for this thread is that I will be putting roughly 2000 rms to each sub daily, so I was wondering if I should be building the box smaller so that they don't explode within the first month.

the smaller the box the more power you need to put to them, so if you go with the smallest box then you can go with the max rms, and vice versa the bigger the box the less power needed

got focus? What a queer name...no I don't because they **** a fat one
I think I hear jealousy that I have a better stereo than you, //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

10k, 2 - L7's ftw

go cry some place else......

just don't give them 2k watts...

sell whatever amp that is or get some bigger subs.

i'm running two off of a 1501d mtx at 1 ohm... in the design i posted above in my escape and it can push them too far prior to clipping
