12" kicker cvr's not chest bass?

My friend has 2 kicker 12" cvr's and a sealed q logic box, he is giving 400w rms to each sub and it isnt chest pounding bass, WHY? it sounds very loud but not in the chest, he has a ALPINE M850 amp and it is tuned to 80hz gain half way everything set good.

are you sure they getting 400w each? and putting them in a well made ported box might help too

Yeah build a ported box for them. That helped a ton on my CVR's. Maybe a little more power if he can afford a new amp I was sending mine about 700 a piece and they were taking it like it was nothing.

so your running them 2ohm i presume? and yes box being too small will def. keep you from getting low bass

correction his box is 1.25 cuft per chamber, way off sorry :| again the bass is loud but its not in the chest at all!

my CVR's are a 4 cube ported at 30 hz, and around 25 hz, it almost hurt you chest to sit in the car. i play the song "white girl" [rap song] and it feels like my little brother just sat on my chest. Def. go ported and bigger if possible

I suspect you may be getting cancellation. Try these two things and see if it helps: Switch the positive and negative on the subs, wiring them out of phase (NOT from each other //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/ponder.gif.ec2527b23f1d287b60dcbba54f95edba.gif) and see if it helps.

Try moving the sub enclosure around the vehicle as well as firing the woofers in different directions (towards the rear, front, side, up) if possible.

See if doing any of those things helps. If not, I agree that you might need to make a proper enclosure for them.

all, i'm saying is that i can feel it in my car. you car may be completely different and our versions of "feeling" chest bass may be different. so me/nearly nobody can be sure. but almost 99.9999% of the time, ported [properly] will have much more output.

That tuning freq is way too low if you are wanting to bring out the kick drum. (which is what I am assuming you mean by chest pounding).

The freq. range of that is much higher.
