I have a confirmed delivery date of April 2nd at our warehouse in OKC. This shipment will also have our new SDC2.5 series on board. It will take a couple of days to QC a sufficent number of woofers to open up the order page. I will also get the ts specs up for the copper coil HDC's and the new SD2.5's.

It will still have more output with +2000 watts and the copper coil. In my testing the copper coil was always louder. I couldn't put enough power on the woofer for this to not be true. DJ says in their testing, in some setups the aluminum will be louder than the copper coil, but it typically takes a ton of power for this to be true. So it's not that the copper doesn't continue to get louder. It's just that the aluminum continues to get louder at a higher rate, and will sometimes pass the copper coil.
On a side note, the difference in output is not noticable by ear. It was a small difference, and the human ear isn't going to detect it. The two woofers will have different sound characteristics though, and that is noticable. Most people prefer the copper coil for SQ.

what do you mean? which likes rap better? i have the 12 in a 2.7cuft @ 38hz and mostly listen to rap, but on punch notes, it sounds awful. the speaker is within 18in from my head (so i can hear it really well) should i also tune a lil lower and make the box alil smaller??

I mean the aluminum coil and the copper coil have different sound characteristics.......

Make the box a lot smaller. Big boxes sound like isht IMO

The 12 will probably sound a little better. The 15 will be a little louder. However, IMO that box is too big for a 12. I would use around 2 cu ft for a 12.

I think a 12 would be your best bet. If you put the 15 in 3 cubes, you'll notice some really peaky notes and a large drop off when you hit the lower notes. I had an HD3 15 in 3.5 @ 40hz and it sounded alright and got fairly loud. Then I moved to 4.5 @ 40 and WOW, what a world of a difference. The lows were lower and louder, there wasn't a huge peak and drop off, and I actually metered higher with the larger box.

Bottom line, a 15 wouldn't sound very good in a 3 cube box no matter how you try to tune. You can probably get just as loud and low by having a 12 in the correct box rather than choking the 15 in a box too small.

3.5-4 cu ft works best if you tune properly. Once you get up to 4.5 and bigger it sounds like isht. They get real boomy, and start to have a sound like a retard smacking a barrel with a ball bat. Not good IMO
