12" Hdc3 vs 15" Hdc3

Put the 12" in 2.25 cubes net for best results. The 15" works best in 3.5-4 cubes net. For a daily driver tune 36-38, for spl tune 38-40. Allow 14-16 sq" of port opening per net cubic foot of internal volume.
aight thanks thatll work. but when i contacted your sales team they told me 2.5 cubes

Could someone answer this for me - - I hear people say that the copper coil will shine on 1200-2000w and the aluminum is shine >2000w. But my question is what will happen if i put +2000w to a copper coil? Will it not have anymore output?

It will still have more output with +2000 watts and the copper coil. In my testing the copper coil was always louder. I couldn't put enough power on the woofer for this to not be true. DJ says in their testing, in some setups the aluminum will be louder than the copper coil, but it typically takes a ton of power for this to be true. So it's not that the copper doesn't continue to get louder. It's just that the aluminum continues to get louder at a higher rate, and will sometimes pass the copper coil.

On a side note, the difference in output is not noticable by ear. It was a small difference, and the human ear isn't going to detect it. The two woofers will have different sound characteristics though, and that is noticable. Most people prefer the copper coil for SQ.

To the OP, the 15 will be louder than the 12 in the boxes you listed. I guarantee it. It can be a little tricky to get the 15 to sound good in a box that small. Thus the reason for the larger recommendations.

Thanks for this reply. I was wonder about this myself.
