12 in the proper size box should be louder. 3cubes really isn't enough for a 15. 35hz tune is fine for them, but if you listen mostly to rap I'd tune a little higher...

got a box sittin in my gf''s car 2.5@38hz waiting for a 12 when they get back in stock, ive never heard of putting a 15 in only 3cf

I hear people say that the copper coil will shine on 1200-2000w and the aluminum is shine >2000w. But my question is what will happen if i put +2000w to a copper coil? Will it not have anymore output?

If you have the room why opt for the smaller 12? With the power you have your going to want the most efficient set up, as I assume your going to want SPL, b/c your are buying an SPL sub.

Just get the sub you can put in the optimum enclosure. With that low of power the 15 in a small box is not going to be the ticket.

yea i asked that? a 12 in the right size box then a 15 in a kind of small box.

Cause i will still b usin the trunk. & 3 cubic is the biggest im tryin to go

if 3 cu ft is the biggest you can do then go with the 12.... a smaller sub in a box better for it will shine better than a 15 in too small of a box

Put the 12" in 2.25 cubes net for best results. The 15" works best in 3.5-4 cubes net. For a daily driver tune 36-38, for spl tune 38-40. Allow 14-16 sq" of port opening per net cubic foot of internal volume.
