For daily yes. Thats probably the highest wattage that will still be safe.Would a 12" Fi Q handle 1600 watts RMS (no more)? Whats the max power it can handle?
you need to set the gain, not just put it at a predetermined place.Sooo my Hifonics at 1 ohms (rated at 1600, but probably less) would be ok for that sub? Whats the max I should go on gain? Maybe not even mess with gain?
You need to set the gain to at least get an idea of when your amp is reaching 1600 watts. The difference between your amp putting out 1600 watts and clipping at 2000 watts can sometimes be a tiny turn on the gain or your volume knob. Just get a DMM and set it on the AC voltage and if your amp is putting out 1600 watts at 1 ohm your DMM will read 40 volts. You don't have to be exact on it but get an idea of what settings on your hu and amp will hit 1600 watts. I know that on my Alpine that if I have the volume set on 27 with no boost or anything extra that my amp will be putting out full wattage on songs like "Throw it up" etc.Yeah I know I need to set the gain, but instead of increasing the gain if the amp is putting out 1600 watts, I dont know if the gain needs any increasing at all, do you think I'd be loud with the gain less than 1/4 up? I had to put a Type-R 12" at 2-ohms up halfway for it to be decent.
