12" Cvr

Just need some info on these. Very loud? Can they handle more than 400 rms? Sound good? Just general info.

Thanks
would this be a compVR...if so...i have fed one 1000w in a rather large ported enclosure....they luv the abuse...i even keep one around(on top of my fridge)...just for the sake of having... imo...one of the best budget subs ever made

ive seen one in the back of a saturn, big ported box, seats folded down and 800 rms thrown at it. it put cracks along the edge of the windsheild after time, he used to have 2, but they flexed the windshield so much the cracks would start to extend into the middle of the windshied. not good, so he just got rid of one. very good subs really. for the price that is.

Installing at a shop that sells an assload of cvrs, ive seen so many its disgusting..LOL..But i have also had the pleasure of listening to a plethora of them. CVRs are a very good sub for the price, and kicker stands behind them with a nice replacement warrenty. They can get loud, and sound fairly clean, if done correctly. Hope that helps.

i have a single 12 CVR in my boat and it is only seeing 300 watts from an xtant 3.1 soon to be a 6.1. it is a pretty awesome sub for the money. it hits harder than my friends boat with two w3v2 10"s in it that are seeing about 600 watts. i dont know about you, but that is pretty amazing to me.

The 12"s can really pound. My friend had 2 of them and they were pretty loud.

Not to be jumping and hijacking the thread, but how loud do you guys think 2 18's would be in a sealed box with around 3 feet for each sub and 1300 to 1400 watts going to each with a 1 farad cap? It's going in a firebird in the back seat with the subs pointed at the hatch.

what size box should you use for them? i was also thnkin about maybe gettin 3 12" cvr's. should i get the dual 4 or 2 ohms? i want to wire them to 1ohm

depends on how many woofers u get. For 3 woofers u wont be able to wire em to a perfect ohm load. Itd be something liek 1.34 ohms or something. If u got 2 subs tho u want the DVC 4 ohms and wire in parralel for a 1 ohm load.

Yeah, you should either get 2 or 4 subs to keep the wiring right. Unless it's like some of them out there that make 12 ohms so you can run 3 subs (kicker doesn't). Decide on how many subs you want first, then start thinking about the wiring (I.E. hooking 2 up to one amp and running another amp for the rest) and then you will figure out how many ohms for the subs.

As for the placement of the 18's. I can't do them in the hatch of course (can hardly fit a 2 12's, you could squeeze a 15' there if you really try hard). There going in the back seat behide the roll bar. Then they will installed angled back so they can echo off the hatch glass. My 2 JBL 1200.1s come tuesday, then I just need to get another battery and minor stuff then take it to have the box made. Shop is doing the box for me for 125 bucks (supplies, install, carpet) I didn't want to do it cause I've never built a box before and it has to be put together while in the car pretty much to get it to fit in there.
