I have seen a hundred type x threads and never have I read anything about needing 1700 watts,hell I have never seen anyone suggest anything over 1k

i say 1.2-1.5k is about as much as i'll put to a single one.

Yeah I've ran my 1500 at 1 ohm for about 6 months so far and a team member of mine has ran his 2500 at 1 ohm for over a year now and neither of us have had any problems with them. We've never even put them in protection. As long as you know what your doing and u dont turn your radio up like a dumba$$ to look cool in front of people on the street lol then it'll be fine.

im more for quality...i had it metered just to see how loud it actually was because i was curious. Im not worried about going louder...its clear n loud enough as is.

I think you could still put more power on them if you wanted but if ur concerned with quality then a 145 is pretty good.

my buddy did a 138.6 sealed on the dash @ 43 hertz with his type x off an rf t10001bd @ 2 ohms. they'll get loud, and I really don't see them needing much more than 1000 rms
