12" Mofo with triple stack magnet

Can anybody please explain to me why my Power Acoustic Mofo 12" sub has a triple stack magnet? Please any help would be greatly appreciated

1/2 inch slugs? That would give you the same ferrite as a double stack 3/4 slug that most people use.
