1100d amp settings

I have the 2003 directed 1100d and i have a pair of 12 inch rockford fosgate subs, they are the (p112s40 The cheap ones at best buy for a $100 for the pair, anyways, the box i have them in is 3.5 cubic ft tuned to 28hz and i was just looking for advice on what to set the amp settings at.

here is my DEI1100D

going down the list;

Phase - the direction the sub moves - turn it back and forth and listen, decide what sounds better TO YOU

subsonic (filter) - if you have a ported\vented box - turn this ON - it will stop REALLY low frequencies and destroying your speakers.

gain - match the gain to the OUTPUT voltage of your head unit (read the manual to find out how to do this)

bass EQ - basically a low level 'boost' - it will do a +db to the low frequencies, most head units can do this. on or off - whahtever sounds good to you.

freq - this is the most important (aside from the gain WICH IS NOT A VOLUME KNOB) most people try to set it between 70 and 90. this is called a LOW PASS FILTER... this means it will "block" frequencies ABOVE the number you set it at. subbass is from 1hz to about 90hz (at the REAL high end of subbass)

so id like to recommend setting this to YOUR FAVORITE sound. if you can hear ANYTHING ELSE but subbass - its set too high. so try and remember that.

i was using a 10" resonant engineering SE. i will be using a 15" ascendant audio avalanche.

but that has nothing to do with the subwoofers aside from the voice coil configureation, for shits and giggles

RE SE = DVC4 (2ohm=800w)

AV15 = DVC2 (2ohm = 1100w)
