110 amp alternator

its a 2000 ford focus //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

no, i haven't done the big 3 yet, but i plan to as soon as i can find a new HO alternator, but im having a really hard time finding one for my car. You guys think i could run a 2200-2500rms amp with a new Powermaster 2400 batt up front and a 200 amp alt?!? Thats what im planning to do in the near future. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

yes, with the Big 3 done, i would leave the primary battery and add the 2400 in the back, maybe 2 runs of 1/0

sry if this is a n00b question, but how do u wire multiple batts?? just post to post and neg to neg right?! i think.................... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

I had a MC 110A alt - at 1100w rms it showed almost no sign of stress. At 2000 I'm guessing an aftermarket HO alt would be in line. A good batt is always a plus, but you can get those w/o spending $100.

I've a 90 amp alt on my Sebring...and was using 2 Sundown 3K's...never had a problem with them strapped @ 1 ohm..

I only ran it like that for about a month and only on weekends. I wouldn't advise it for everyday use.. but I've also got 3 DEKA 9A31's and a butt load of runs of + and crap load of grounds.

My voltage never dipped under 13.3-13.4 on the hardest notes...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I have a stock 110A Alternator on my 2003 Mazda 6 S and am running about 3400 watts off of it. Batteries I have a Powermaster D1200 under the hood and a D3100 in the trunk. Big 3 done in 1/0 gauge and all wiring in 1/0 gauge (except the component amp). At full tilt with A/C going I drop to about 12.8-13.1, not bad at all and my lights don't dim.

Depends a lot on the car though, some cars use more current then others regardless of alternator size.

No... You aren't //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

You are running an amplifier that is capable of producing that much power, but you're not actually getting that much out of it.

I am..just not for long. Lol. I start off in low 14's, then as volume goes up voltage goes down //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

So at full tilt it's probably mid 2000's considering the amp probably isn't putting out full power on 12.7 volts, but no need to get into specifics here.

I'm glad you don't actually think you're getting 3,500 watts out of that thing for any extended amount of time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

How do you like that CrunchGP, by the way? I'm thinking about getting one to run a pair of HDC3's.

i never got this about my corolla it has a very small alt and I'm using a ma4000 and everyone knows these are current hogs and I stay around 14.2 volts the whole time. All I have is the big 3 done and my stock battery with a yellowtop in the back. Thing is working awsome so I say it depends on the car and what other options you add to it.

I don't think I'm ever getting 3500 watts out of it even at my full voltage, I was factoring in my ZX350.4 amp as well into the overall watts. I love the amp though, best amp I've touched for the price (450 if onlinecarstereo has em back in stock, I had to pay ~530 for mine as maxxsonics wasn't able to get any back in stock until mid-august and I had to buy off ebay)

Definitely a great amp for the price though, it gets pretty hot though when playing full tilt, but so far hasn't cut off on me or anything. I don't play full tilt for more than one song though really (no pole vent on the MT=very hot sub)

They are said to be quite under-rated too, great amps.

wow!! just like to thank everyone for all their help with my topic!! Thx for all the responses!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
