i know this has been discussed but i am changing my setup, now i have 2 10w3-d4, in a sealed box ran by a 500/1, it sounds ok but not what im used to, before that i had 3 10w3s in a ported box, but space limited by box and sub selection so i went with 2 sealed, my new project is a single 10w7 in a ported box with the 500/1. is this gonna be louder and lower than my current setup, i listen to all music, and i want a sub thats clear AND has the potential to hit low notes when needed. i listened to a friends 12w7 in a sealed box pushed by a bd1000 and it sounded awesome, is the 10w7 gonna sound even close to that?

my friend has 2 10w3v2s in a 2cuft box or so sealed with a jl 500/1 going to it wired down to 1 ohm. don't ask me why that low. anyway we threw it in my car one day and it slammed for sure. but i've never heard a w7 of any type but i'd imagine the w7 would have some more output

i personally fell ur be more satisfied with a single 10w7... my buddy has 2 12w3v2s and i have 2 12w7s (both r in S10s)... and to say the least there is NOOO comparison to the loudness and how much LOWER the w7s get... but then again were talkin bout a $700+ sub to a $300+ sub...the box setup u construct will play a role in the performance u get out of the sub aswell...but i fell the biggest difference ull notice will be how much lower the w7s get ... i dont fell ull be makin a mistake...good luck!

"AScreenName" you said your buddy has his subs wired down to 1 ohm on his 500/1, but you don't know why that low, well a 500/1 is a regulated amp, so output is always 500w no matter how he has them wired.
