I just got two 10w6v2's put in my camaro with 2 500/1's and the subs are brand new and one of them pops when I put it real loud! it sucks so I guess I have to send it to JL and I was wondering where the dam bar code was? on the sub itself so i can match up which box it came in to send it back and i dont have the receipt do you think theyll warranty it? thanks

unfortunately off of the internet so does anybody know where the barcode on the actual subwoofer is????????????????????????????????????????? I couldnt find one

Have you tried it on the other amp to see if the sub still pops just for the heck of it? Also make sure the coils are wired correctly between either 1.5-4 ohms. Are the amps set up exactly the same.

Are they D3? if so they should be wired in parallel.

I think 500/1's can be wired in a master-slave configuration, if so that is how they should be set up so that both gains and all are exactly the same. as stated before, try swaping amps on the subs to see if the problem switches subs or stays the same or even goes away.

still should be wired in parallel, as long as the load is above 1.5ohm you are good.

The only hting i cn think of is they arent linked and gain settings are different and one is bottoming out at high output, i dont know if W6v2's can even bottom out but there is really no other explanation off the top of my head.

they're d4's and does anyone know where to find the serial no# on the driver itself????? I couldnt find it
I might be off base on this but I have heard that the stuff bought on the internet as opposed to from an authorized JL dealer typically do not have serieal numbers. I had friend that bought a 500/1 on Ebay and when the amp blew he tried to send it back to JL and they would not touch it because the serial number was scratched off or missing all together(can't remember which). This seems to be the way that JL is combatting the internet sails of their products, which is odd because I still have yet to figure out how all these internet companies can get their products to begin with. Wouldn't they have to purchase them from JL first? Many people trying to sell JL stuff on Ebay claim they got their stuff from JL!

Not that this concerns me but how do the net companies get the prodcuts? Are they factory seconds or does JL sell them at discount prices to these companies with the stipulation that there is no JL warranty on them adn that it will cost an arm and a leg for repairs at JL., if JL will make the repairs?
