10ga wired in trunk thru relay

I want to run a few LED tubes/lights and my amp REM's/Fans off a fused 30amp SPDT relay. Is it possible to just Run a 10ga from the relay and snake it thruout the trunk to whereever I want it to go, and just splice into the wire where I need a 16ga wire for something, and just tape over the end of it. Also do the same for the ground, snake it alongside the power wire and splice into whenever I need a ground for something that doesn't use alot of current? Thanks.
